Your task is to control a ship-borne system for generating hydrogen from sea water, powered by the wind.

This simulation is greatly speeded up but the relative energy inputs and consumption rates are roughly in proportion to the way real systems might work.

I think this is how offshore wind farms should be used. No more cabling to shore. Ships equipped like this could be fully automated and fully electric for travelling to shore and back.

Much as I love my Nissan Leaf, I know EVs will not suit most people because of the awkwardness of recharging when out and about. I think there should be much more emphasis on developing hydrogen-powered vehicles and the infrastructure for them. Otherwise the risk is that most people will be driving hybrid vehicles that are overcomplicated and save very little by way of greenhouse gas emissions.
